It is with the deepest regret and sadness to announce that our dear friend, Pastor Don Hamer, has been called home to be with the Lord. On Wednesday morning March 17, 2010 he suffered a fatal heart attack. His daughter Sheridan was with him at the time of his passing. We are deeply saddened by this loss and ask that you join his family in prayer at this time. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, and 5 children, Stephanie, Sheridan, D.C., Joseph and Phillip.

Don Hamer was a pastor and educator to many, a husband to one, a father to five, a friend to countless, and above all a follower of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
This living memorial was put together for the friends and family of Pastor Don Hamer, to mourn, to honor, to remember, and to celebrate his exceptional life and contribution to this world. We want to express our appreciation for his life, we want to acknowledge the significance of his life and to recognize that everyone here has in some way been blessed by his life, for some just recently, others for a lifetime, we are here to say "Thank you, Heavenly Father" for the life of this exceptional man of God. We are also here today to offer up our sorrow together, acknowledging that there is great sadness in our hearts and a deep emptiness left by Don's sudden and seemingly untimely departure home to be with the Lord.

Hi Sheridan, my former husband and I and our son, Caleb Cervantes, share in your grief and celebration of your precious father. Pastor Hamer made such an impact on our sorry lives, and for a brief moment in time, Sheridan, being in the presence of other brothers and sisters in Christ at Zion, we sensed his presence and power in the Lord. Your father, sweet Sheridan, made such an impact on us. Although the future for my former husband and I are concerned remain uncertain, please know, that you and your dear family are in our thoughts and prayers every second of the day.
